This first collaborative series of paintings by Megan Chapman and Stewart Bremner was the result of an intensive period of creativity during May of 2011. These paintings were created when Bremner first visited Chapman in Fayetteville, Arkansas. After several years of long distance correspondence, the pair of artists were excited to have the chance to work together and spent many weeks in Chapman's studio.
Although the collaborative process was initially more difficult than anticipated, the series proved a success. Each painting shows clear elements by both artists as individuals, that have been brought together into a cohesive body of work. When looking at these works, their immediacy can be felt, as well as the pace and buzz felt by the artists as they worked closely together.
